Variational methods for compression and control.

Recent advances in variational methods in combination with deep learning allowed us to apply those methods to many problems at unprecedent scale. This has opened a wide-range of possible applications ranging from image/video compression to control theory. In this talk I'll review some of these methods and demonstrate a few applications to image compression and unsupervised learning to control.
